We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

By Howrah Primary School

HOWRAH Primary School would like to wish the Eastern Shore community a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We firmly believe we are a great school where every child is known individually and where our high expectations for each child is matched by our expert teaching team.

As the year comes to a close, we look back throughout the year and our many celebrations in the form of academic, cultural and sporting events.

This year, we thoroughly enjoyed our school play Ali Baba and the Bongo Bandits.

We celebrated success in French competitions, have had a number of students actively involved in online gifted education programs and participated in a range of community programs including making signs for Landcare on Glebe Hill.

These are only a few of the many events our children were able to enjoy this year at Howrah Primary School.

We live our department values of courage, aspirations, growth, respect and courage, which help us to build student resilience in class and in the playground.

Our active Launch into Learning community provides a wonderful introduction to our school community.

We recently welcomed more than 80 new kinder children into our school community who will make up four classes of approximately 21 children.

Our parent community is integral to our school’s success – our school association regularly meets to progress the needs of our school.

Our active Parents and Friends Committee is a dedicated group of individuals who work hard to raise money for our school, money which provided many wonderful extras.

Additionally, whenever we have an event many parents come in to help on the day.

It is because of this gift of time from parents that we can participate in many extra events.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our parent community.

Thank you also to our wonderful staff of more than 80 individuals from teachers, teacher assistants, support staff, office staff, cleaners and grounds people whose dedication make our great school a wonderful place to be.
