Tasmania’s best riders strut their stuff in Lauderdale

THE 2016 Tasmanian Show Jumping Championships were held at the Tasmanian Equestrian Centre in Lauderdale on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 December 2016.

Proceedings on the Saturday kicked off with a number of warm-up classes before the feature Jellystone Park Performance Horses’ Fancy Dress Six Bar event.

Championship classes were held on the Sunday, culminating with the 1.20 metre and 1.05 meter speed championships taking place across the two rings.

Tasmanian Show Jumping Championship Organising committee member Wendy Steele said the event was a tremendous success with record entries and significant interest from the local equestrian community.

“Former Olympian Gavin Chester was our course builder for the weekend in Ring 1 and for the speed championships,” she said.

“We also ran a very successful trade stall alley and online auction in conjunction to the championships, and our Fancy Dress Six Bar, in particular, received tremendous support.”
