Pick your own berries – a crowd favourite

TASMANIA’S newest “pick your own” farm has opened its doors to keen pickers of strawberries, raspberries and other cane berry fruits for the 2015/16 season.

Adding to its already popular restaurant and chocolate products made on site, Coal River Farm invites members of the community to enjoy farm fresh berries “straight from the patch”.

Located at 634 Richmond Road, just 10 minutes from Cambridge and 10 minutes from Richmond, Coal River Farm has experienced fast success since opening in late August this year.

“We are delighted to be offering our popular fruit to pick your own customers following a very successful year of selling them at markets around Hobart,” Coal River Farm owner Melanie Leesong said

“We love having people stop by and pick up the freshest produce available and have been overwhelmed by the support our little farm has had in such a short space of time.”

Activities at the farm include observing chocolate and artisan cheese making, walking the orchard, visiting the chickens, dining in the restaurant or simply relaxing with a drink on the bright red beanbags on the grass.

Free cheese and chocolate tastings are available every day with all day dining from 9am to 4pm.

Pick your own berries is available daily.
