Full bloom at 2018 Orchid and Flower Show

THE Tasmanian Orchid Society will hold its annual Spring Show in September this year.

This year’s show will showcase a new bloom of orchids and other floral displays and will have plants for sale.

The show will put on potting demonstrations to show patrons how to properly take care of the plants in their own homes.

The Tasmanian Orchid Society leads a floral show each year and its displays continue to amaze visitors.

The Society was formed in 1947 and is the oldest orchid society in Tasmania.

Society members meet on the third Monday of each month to organise a range of different events throughout the year.

Events are held to help assist new growers with learning more about growing and keeping orchid plants, and to create a bigger community with a shared interest.

The show will be held in the Hobart Town Hall auditorium from 20 to 23 September.

Opening hours are Thursday (20 September) 1-5pm, Friday 9-5pm, Saturday 9-5pm and Sunday 9-3pm.

There is parking in the rear of the building and lift facilities at the Town Hall.
