Family medical centre opens in Howrah

A BRAND new medical centre has opened its doors in Glebe Hill Estate, bringing traditional, family-based medical care to the Howrah community.

Run by Dr Alice Frampton and her husband Kieran, Glebe Hill Family Practice (GHFP) boasts a team of highly qualified and locally educated GPs, seven consulting rooms, a separate room for minor surgical procedures and a spacious waiting area with free WiFi for patients.

Dr Frampton said it had been a long-held dream to provide a medical centre that prioritised quality, patient-centred care.

“Having worked in corporately owned and operated medical practices, I saw the need for the return of a more traditional, family-based, locally managed medical practice,” she said.

“Glebe Hill Estate just seemed the perfect community to realise this dream and having grown up and started a family in Howrah, we personally understand the needs of families living in the area.

“That is why we will strive to provide a medical centre that delivers an excellent standard of health care to the Eastern Shore community.”

With stage one of the medical centre development now complete, GHFP is welcoming new patients.

“It’s been a refreshing change for our staff to be able to say, ‘yes we are taking new patients’ and ‘yes, we have appointments available today’,” Dr Frampton said.

“Once the roads for the adjacent commercial subdivision are completed, stage two of development will commence and will include a separate staff car park at the rear of the building.

“As the practice grows, we will be excited to welcome additional GPs, as well as other medical specialists and allied health care workers to our team.

“We also hope to eventually extend our opening hours to include weekday evenings and weekends.”

The GHFP team includes Dr Alice Frampton, Dr Gianni Fantini, Dr Rekha Ratnagobal, and Dr Marita Long.

Appointments are available by phoning the practice on 6169 0000 or booking online at ghfp.com.au

GHFP is located at 45 Hance Road, Howrah and is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5pm.
