Eastern Shore farmers’ market is growing

PLANNING is now underway for the upcoming Bellerive Community Farmers’ Market season.

New members have joined the market’s management committee with the group hoping to increase the number of stalls and the range of products for sale ahead of the next market to be held next month.

“In response to patron feedback, the usual food-related stalls would be complemented with other Tasmanian non-food product lines such as timber products,” said Brenda Marsh, president of the market’s management committee.

Ms Marsh said expressions of interest received from potential stallholders would be assessed during September.

New members of the Bellerive Community Farmers’ Market management committee are Richard Kent from Figilicious, Marcelle Froud from The Market Garden Mobile Nursery, Amy Woodward from Backyard Bounty and Pamela Wilkinson from Slow Food.

Brenda Marsh, Heather Chong and Peter Kent were re-elected to the positions of president, treasurer and secretary respectively.
