Community spirit shines at Risdon Vale Fair

FAMILIES and residents came together for a day of rides, entertainment, food and activities at the 2026 Risdon Vale Community Fair.
Hosted by the Risdon Vale Neighbourhood Centre (RVNC), the event brought together local stallholders, community organisations, food vendors, entertainers and volunteers.
Clarence Deputy Mayor Allison Ritchie attended the fair and praised those involved in bringing the event together.
“The Risdon Vale Community Fair is a great example of what can be achieved when local people and organisations come together to create something positive for their community,” Ms Ritchie said.
“There was a wonderful atmosphere throughout the fair and it was particularly pleasing to see so many families enjoying themselves and supporting the different stalls and activities.”
Ms Ritchie thanked RVNC Centre Manager Sam Webster and his team for the work involved in organising the event.
“Community events don’t just happen. They require months of planning, coordination and the contribution of many people, and the RVNC team deserves enormous credit for providing such a successful event for the community,” she said.
Ms Ritchie also acknowledged the many stallholders, volunteers, performers and community organisations that contributed to the day.
“It is also an important opportunity for local groups to raise funds, promote what they do and connect with the wider community,” she said.
Among those taking part were Danni Jones and Crystal Crawford, who hosted a stall to raise funds for the Risdon Vale Primary School Grade 6 Leavers.
“Finishing primary school is a significant milestone for young people, and it is great to be able to support the parents and community members working together to make the occasion special for them,” Ms Ritchie said.
“Our neighbourhood centres are important parts of their communities. They provide practical assistance, activities, opportunities for connection and a welcoming place for people from all walks of life,” she said.
“The success of the Community Fair demonstrates the strength of community spirit that exists in Risdon Vale and the surrounding area.”
