Clarence City Band takes audience on a musical journey

THE Clarence City Band took audiences on a musical journey through air, road, rail and sea at its annual Gala Concert at Rosny College.
Titled Journeys, the concert featured a diverse program showcasing the talents of the community band, alongside vocal performances from members of Exit Left.
Clarence Deputy Mayor Allison Ritchie attended the concert and congratulated the band on another successful performance.
“The Gala Concert was a wonderful celebration of live music and the enormous talent we have within our local community,” Ms Ritchie said.
“The Journeys theme made for a thoroughly entertaining evening, and it was wonderful to see so many people come together to enjoy and support the Clarence City Band.”
Ms Ritchie congratulated band president Max Melton and the committee, musical director Michael Young, assistant musical director Andrea McKibben and all band members for their work in delivering the concert.
Ms Ritchie said organisations such as the Clarence City Band played an important role in the cultural life of the city.
“They provide opportunities for people to develop and share their musical talents, bring generations together and ensure that live music remains accessible within our community,” she said.
“Behind every successful performance is also an enormous amount of work that the audience may never see, so I particularly want to acknowledge the volunteers, committee members, families and supporters who contribute their time and energy throughout the year.
“The commitment of everyone involved with the Clarence City Band continues to enrich our community and provides opportunities for people of all ages to participate in and enjoy the performing arts.”
“I congratulate everyone involved with Journeys and thank the Clarence City Band for another wonderful community concert.”
