All aboard the sunshine coach

FIVE thousand dollars goes a long way for Variety Tasmania.

And thanks to a generous donation from the Harcourts Foundation, the children’s charity can now purchase a replacement “Sunshine Coach”, which will be used for operational purposes.

The current coach is a 2002 model that has served Variety Tasmania well during the many kilometres travelled for the Variety Federal Group Tasbash and other numerous activities.

Harcourts Foundation representatives recently presented the $5000 cheque to Variety Tasmania state manager Luke Doyle at the charity’s offices in Cambridge.

“The purchase of a brand new Sunshine Coach will allow us to continue our important work around the state enhancing the lives of children who are sick, disadvantaged or who have additional needs,” Mr Doyle said.

“The wonderful support of the Harcourts Foundation allows us to direct more income to our grants program and help more children in need.”

Since establishing in Tasmania eight-years-ago, the Harcourts Foundation has granted more than $273,000 to Tasmanian charities and not-for-profit organisations in need of support.

Each office within Tasmania contributes an agreed amount for each transacted sale through Harcourts, as well as other fundraising activities, generating a funding pool for the four grant funding rounds held each year.
