PORTOBELLO ROAD

 9 - 11 Murray Street 6223 6663

THIS establishment has been through a few renovations since the last owners disappeared off the scene. I went there, accidentally, on the first day of trading with the new owner, Fiona Russell, and had a delightful lunch. For the first day, the place was absolutely chockers! I had the lamb back straps on a caesar salad ($12). The lamb was perfectly cooked - pink and succulent. The legal beagle and I went there recently for lunch and had a smashing meal. I couldn't go passed the sauvignon blanc from New Zealand called Crowded House. The beagle had the chermoula trevalley
on noodles and I had the Huon Valley mushroom risotto. Both meals were under $12 which was true value for the dosh and scrumptious with it.
