Lewisham Hotel, at Lewisham 6265 8144
I HAVEN'T been to the Lewisham for years, even for a concert, so we had a lovely outing and a smashing lunch. We ordered the Lewisham seafood platter for two ($56) and it totally defeated us. Sense of humour seems to be the go with the staff which was a pleasure to deal with.

But the platter! It came with two pieces of fried fish, prawns, squid, a prawn cocktail, skewered prawns, two pieces of grilled fish, a seafood pate, a salad each, and some crispy chips and the brill waddle on the way back to the car was something to behold.

It is an extremely generous serving, and the presentation was something out of the box. Shane Jupp, ex Gondwana in Battery Point, is the licensee (and proud father of nine month old daughter, Essie) and he was also helping in the kitchen. There were a few people there for a Thursday and we had a right funny old time. The views are something to write home about. It is in a really beautiful position.
