Gossip
FISH at 349 Elizabeth Street, continues to outdo itself with really interesting dishes. The tempura Bruny Island oysters are always brilliant, but some new goodies include chickpea crusted mussels, and another of  swordfish was interesting and scrumptious.
You can usually get a walk in without booking there,
and the staff are great too.

Brilliant Brekkies on Sunday? - try Lansdowne Cafe

My daughters and I went there recently for Sunday brunch. We've been before; however, it is such good value. The girls had dairy-free berry smoothies and mixed grain toast, and I opted for the blueberry bagel. The bill was astonishingly small, service was ace, and it was thoroughly enjoyable. If you are a doggy person, you can take your pooch and sit at the outside tables. The kitchen closes at 1 pm on Sundays, so book in early.

Midway Point Tavern (6265 2159) has some super bottle shop specials on at the moment, and it is worth the effort to go and check them out. Friendly staff and beaut service always makes my day. Lady Letitia and I checked out the bottleshop after having a lovely lunch comprising a seafood platter and fish and vegetables washed down with the Steeplejack unwooded chardonnay. Good pub grub!
