Time to think about new looks and warm colours
By LINDA BROWN*

WELL we are approaching the change in seasons and of course it is time to think about everything that winter has to offer in terms of new looks and warm colours.

Briefly your winter shoe wardrobe must haves are bright coloured pumps, suede pumps, anything in black patent leather, purple which is, of course, the new black and if you’re not into purple, then the more subtle alternatives of aubergine and raspberry. Remember to have some good base colours  of red, black and grey. A big must are the incredibly popular shopping tote bags which are not only a style item, but also a practical item when there’s plenty of shopping to do.

For a smart look, then go for wide leg pants complemented by an all over tailored look.  Just make sure to structure your dressing and perhaps go for some comfy by stylish platforms which look fantastic with the wide leg pant. To top off your tailored look, opt for silk blouses teamed with a string of pearls for that touch of glamour.

Some more fashion tips from the Xperts from  X/tras is the eclectic Bohemian mix which centres on fringed scarves, flat riding boots teamed with soft dresses. Don’t cringe, the mix of both looks fantastic.   Add a touch of delicate feathers for effortless, cool and soft appeal.  This is a great look for a Sunday brunch or lunch on cooler, sunny days.

Another great look are cropped leather jackets for the cooler months team with chunky jewellery for a dramatic effect.

Clutch bags made a great come back last year  and I am delighted to say they are very much still in vogue this season.  Another great idea for cooler days are oversized sweats teamed with a belt and tighter fitting pants.

For those accessories don’t forget some great faithfuls such as bright and colourful gloves, scarves tied in pussycat bows, and sparkles for daywear. Gold accessories look fantastic with an all winter white outfit.  Trust me, you’ll be complimented many times over.

Remember to define your look with versatile pieces that have lasting appeal.

For your make up consider traffic-stopping red lips and of course the alternative, nude lips.

X/tras’s tip for a great look is to blend foundation over your lips before applying colour for a lasting finish!

In the March edition from the Xperts at X/tras we will look at 10 classic pieces no woman should be without and remember when you need a little X/tra see us at X/tras D/rect.
