Ball and Chain, Salamanca Place 6223 2655
THE Bank Horror and I headed down to the Ball and Chain for lunch. A medium Porterhouse for the Horror ($24.50) and a small scotch fillet for me ($15.50). As
ever, the meat was cooked exactly as requested and was tender and fabulous. It's the Horror's favourite restaurant. We did have to order a side of fries, as the Horror can't live without chips ($5.50). A tremendous lunch. It's nice to see an iconic restaurant still delivering the goods after all these years. Phil Capon, owner of this restaurant, was awarded the Bertie Tucceri Award by the Australian  Hotels Association in conjunction with the Restaurant and Caterers Association. The award was presented by
Bertie's widow, Anne. My understanding about this award is that it is presented for a significant contribution to the restaurant industry over the past year/s. Bertie Tucceri was a pioneer in the restaurant industry in Hobart, and would have been pleased with Phil's recognition.
