Barilla Oyster Festival
GOSH, we Taswegians are hardy folk. The weather was windy, wet, and just downright narky, but the Dragon and I still headed out to Barilla Bay for the Oyster
Festival (conamed the Oyster Riot). And we weren't the only ones: lots of people also braved the weather to attend the fest. Headway was organising the parking
(gold coin donation for your car place) and SEA FM was also on site for the event

Oyster Bay Oysters had a tasting plate for $5 plus oyster chowder shooter $1. The five oysters on the plate were served natural, sushi, with seaweed and
soy, mango salsa, and my favourite - a chinese style oyster dumpling - yum.

We also tried oysters from all over the state and they were all smashing. Some suggestions I would put forward, if the weather is so woeful next year - join
the marquees together, put clear covers to the ground to keep the rain and wind out, and get the oyster growers to think outside the square and do some more interesting presentations. Oyster Bay Oysters certainly had done that, without spoiling those brilliant oysters.
