Fire management plan adopted by council
CLARENCE City Council has formally adopted a fire management area fire protection plan to help reduce the risk of fire and promote effective fire management. Clarence Mayor Jock Campbell said the plan provided an integrated and coordinated approach to the management of fires on properties throughout Clarence, in both urban and bushland areas.

The plan has been prepared in consultation with the Parks and Wildlife Service (PWS) and the Tasmania Fire Service (TFS), with the endorsement of the Clarence fire management area committee.

The Fire Management Area Committee, which includes Council representatives as well as stakeholders from PWS and TFS, will be responsible for overseeing its implementation.
