Kabuki by the Sea, just before Swansea on the right-hand side of the Highway 6257 8588
THIS place is just terrific. I had won dinner, bed and brekky at Kabuki at trivia quizzing at the dear old Republic Hotel, so we headed up the coast. At this time of the year mid-week, your meal is delivered to your room, and what a meal it was. Sushi, a stir-fry noodle dish, rice, and chicken and vegetables. I also ordered, as a separate request not included in the prize, the baby abalone served on the shell. It's worth every cent. The abalone is fantastic.

The meal was served with a bottle of wine, and there was fudge for dessert. The other unearthly thing is watching the sunrise bouncing off the pink granite. It was magnificent, even when you have to wake your roommate up at 6 am to see it. For breakfast there was a cob loaf with lots of butter, jam, choice of cereals, and was enjoyable too.

The seagulls of Kabuki perform daily (subject to Actors Equity, weather and other unknowns) and Kabuki has various deals until 30 November. The accommodation in cliff-top Ryokan Terraces is beaut. There is a mid-week super special at the moment where you receive the accommodation, in-room special dinner, a bottle of wine and Tasmanian fudge which is $208 for two.  Worth it for that sunrise!
