Fantastic effort by rugby juniors
EASTERN Suburbs Rugby Union Football Club’s  under 14 team is the grand finalist– and the club has much to celebrate.

Club patron Martin McManus said it was the first time in 29 years the under 14s have won a grand final with  full credit to the team, coaches, parents and supporters.  Eastern Suburbs defeated Hutchins 23 – 12  to record a convincing premiership win.

Coach Paul Devine said he was very proud of the way the team had performed this season.

“Some of our boys were first year players and they have come such a long way.  Our experienced players have worked really hard and full credit to all the boys for learning to play as a team so effectively in just one season.

“I also need to thank Damien Carrick, my assistant coach and Steve Donaldson for taking care of the first aid this season.  Winning a grand final is a team effort and I am really grateful for all the support I have had this season,” Paul said.

Eastern Suburbs is the only rugby club on the Eastern Shore and new members are always welcome. The club can be contacted on phone (03) 6244 2193.
