The birthday cake was prepared by the ‘Golden Tulip Patisserie’ in Lindisfarne and had 100 individual pieces.

The Eating with Friends program is sponsored by the Clarence City Council and allows isolated people to meet with old friends, form new friendships and enjoy a well-balanced meal together in a pleasant environment.

The event is held every six weeks at the Motor Yacht Club of Tasmania in Lindisfarne, where the food is served by willing volunteers from CCVS.

Many volunteer groups provide entertainment at the luncheons and recently the ‘German Choir’ performed.  Lucky door prizes, donated by Clarence businesses, and raffles are also held.

Eating with Friends has approximately 80 members and at least 30 people have been with the program since its inception.

For more information in joining Eating with Friends, phone CCVS on 6245 8678.
