Clarence planning scheme one step closer
Clarence City Council will be re-submitting its planning scheme to the Resource Planning and Development Commission (RPDC) following a two-month period on exhibit for Clarence residents. The draft scheme aims to provide a comprehensive plan consistent with council’s strategic direction.

Clarence Mayor  Jock Campbell said the new scheme would replace the three planning schemes currently operating in Clarence, providing the community with one clear set of planning controls.

“The new scheme has undergone extensive community consultation and review by the RPDC and council hopes the end result will be an easy to use scheme for those who need to refer to it in the future,” Ald Campbell said.

“The adoption of the scheme has been a lengthy process and council hopes the RPDC will approve the draft this time around.

“Particular consideration has been given to future residential areas, residential development standards and bushfire controls.

“Council will now send a report on the representations received as well as council’s recommendations on the scheme back to the RPDC and we hope to be able to adopt it in the near future.”
