EASTERN SHORE GOSSIP
* The RSL at Lindisfarne has been sold, and documents will be exchanged in July. The club then has some time before relocation requirements. So, hang on to your blue suede shoes for the rock and roll nights with DJ Graeme Barry on the last Friday of each month, except for December when the rock and roll night is on December 21.  Rock and roll night also brings a special meal deal - for $20 you can have either fish or roast of the day, followed by either mud cake or ice cream sundae.

* The bakery at 189a Derwent Avenue, has been taken over by Steve Allie and Barry Cooper, the owners of Brighton Bakehouse (see story last edition of ESS) and it is now called Loaves Bakehouse. The Brighton Bakehouse produces some wonderful products, and they will be selling these at Loaves. The pies are terrific. (ph: 6211 6199)

* One thing I found on my travels in the north was the salt and pepper squid in the bar at the Beltana pub is the best value for money bar meal in the world as I know it. $8 for the squid, served with salad is brilliant, even if Basil did forget to show my postcard to the lads in the bottle shop - and Jan in the restaurant.
