A ‘Canadian Foursome’ golf competition was held followed by lunch and an awards presentation to the winners and runners up.

A raffle was held on the day and more than $200 was raised and donated to Arthritis Tasmania as part of Arthritis Awareness Week.

The Chief Executive Officer of Arthritis Tasmania, Jackie Slyp, was delighted to receive the donation and gave an informative speech on the condition.

Arthritis affects both the young and old and there are about 90,000 sufferers of one of the 100 different types of arthritis in Tasmania.

Jackie emphasised the importance of exercise in her speech and everyone was delighted to hear that playing golf can enhance strength and mobility.

Jackie also distributed a pamphlet with information on how to keep fit and enjoy the game, the benefits of golf, modifications to equipment and warm up and cool down exercises.
